We have discussed in class the unique ecological problem caused by the exotic species that have been introduced, either by accident or on purpose, into the United States.  Now that you have watched a movie classic, Cane Toads, I would like you to answer the following questions.

1. Why were cane toads introduced to Australia?
2. Cane toads were native to what geographical region ? (Where were the introduced toads from)
3. Explain what is happening with the population size of the cane toad in Australia.
4. Are there any natural predators of cane toads in Australia ? If so, what are they?
5. Are the adult cane toads habitat specific ? (Are they found in one specific habitat or all over)
6. What are some of the ways that humans appreciate or use cane toads?
7. Why do some Australians want something done about the cane toads?
8. How might conservation biologists control cane toad populations? Discuss the pros and cons of your method.
